It all began in a house in Culver City where Anthony “Brew” Brewster lived, worked and played. His home recording studio was a hub for such recording artists as Kanetic Source (Ozomatli), Deploi, Chali 2na (Jurassic5), Tony Tarasco (Orioles) and many more. His spot was quickly dubbed “the house” where folks, such as Res, DJ Dez, D-Break and Darius Rucker (Hootie & the Blowfish), would come to hang, record and “vibe” together…hence the name, House of Vibe. Since then, HOV has taken on many forms and a core conviction…music for them, about them, by them.
Subsequently, Brew (Fishbone/Untouchables), Fish (Fishbone), D-Break (Untouchables), DJ Dez (Slum Village) and Pocket (guitarist/Erykah Badu) of the House of Vibe crew are called upon frequently to play various gigs for major label recording artists such as Justin Timberlake, Everlast, De La Soul, Talib Kweli, Chali 2na, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Res, Nikka Costa, N’dea Davenport, Citizen Cope, Edidon of the Outlawz and others
Stay on the look out for House of Vibe’s new music in 2019!!
